Vika, a woman that Sveta knew when she was a young mother, reconnected with her early after the 2022 invasion. She had lived in Sveta’s mother’s village, but is now living in a village outside of Kharkiv. The second largest city in Ukraine, Kharkiv has been under constant attack since February, 2022.
Vika has a number of ministries that she is involved in, but has been most in need of funds to buy flour to bake for the soldiers and other ministries. Sveta and I agreed that this outreach fell into the new war-time boundaries of MUCH.
Many things have happened in Vika’s life over the years.
Sveta recently received a story and picture of her daughter, grandson, and granddaughter. The story is most amazing!
One night, the parents and children were playing inside the house. In the process of running around, the boy tripped and hit his head on an old style cast iron heater.
In the process of stopping the bleeding, the father saw a large hole in his head. Vika encouraged everyone to pray for the boy. By the time that Vika looked at the hole in his head, it had shrunk by 75%. In the process of all of these event, an ambulance was called.
A new law in Ukraine to protect children from child abuse states that the ambulance doctor must call the police to evaluate the situation. The ambulance arrived, called the police, and the process began. While the doctor evaluated the boy’s medical condition, the police separated the mother and father, leaving the children with Vika, the grandmother.
The doctor was suggesting that they take the child to the hospital. Vika whispered to her daughter that God told her not to go.
Before one of the policemen could question the five year-old granddaughter, she enthusiastically said simply and clearly, “While we were playing, Stas tripped and hit his head on the battery.” The policeman was satisfied. There was no need for more questions.
The following day, they did take the child to the doctor. When he looked at the wound, he said, “Everything is good, I have never seen such excellent stitching.” The parents said that they had not been to a doctor. Immediately, Stas spoke up with joy, “I know Who did it, God did it!” This doctor replied, “Only God could do it this well!”
This is only one of the many miracle stories that we have heard during this insane war. God is involved in caring and providing for His children, sometimes in natural ways, other times in supernatural ways. Much of the time, He works through His children, caring for one another. Sveta and I are only two of our team, and of the many others that God works through. Hallelujah!
