Last night, about 10:15 PM, we heard a big explosion as the electricity went off. Our house shook and the doors rattled. It was a very loud explosion. I later learned that it was about a mile away. I can’t image how loud it was at ground zero.

This morning we learned more about the attack. A grandmother from our home group lives in a high rise. Her windows were shattered. She was not injured, but her daughter called to share that her mother was terribly shaken,

Other locations that were hit include one hotel, two education buildings (schools or universities), and a gas station.

When the war gets closer to our front door, we feel this war very personally. We understand how the war works, although the unknown factors of when, where, and how severe the attack will be, keep us on guard.

For Sveta and me, we continue fighting the battles on both the physical and the spiritual levels. Finding a balance for these battles can be a challenge.
