We celebrate Christmas every year,
Remembering and reliving the truths that we hold dear.
The beautiful manger scene and the story that is told,
The star, the shepards, and the three kings of old.
That was a moment and a single place of a time gone by,
So, why is it important to the world, and especially to I?
Here I am, in the middle of a war,
With bullets and rockets, and destruction galore.
Where once there were cities with meaningful names,
Now there are only memories without any frames.
It is true that my Svitlana and I remain unscathed to this day,
But my question is where does Christmas fit in, and in what way?
Many miss the true meaning of Christmas that remains alive today,
It is the beginning of a relationship that lives in a meaningful way.
The Christ child came to be like us,
To experience life, the good, the bad, the problems, and all the fuss.
He came to walk with us, and talk with us, and teach us to be,
To build a relationship with Him, His Father, and the Spirit, three.
He came to show us His creation, this physical world of ours,
That it is a pathway to that of the spirit world and its powers.
This Christ child, Jesus, came to give salvation as a free gift,
Only a part of what He came to sift.
Among all of what He came to do,
He came to offer a relationship with Him, for each of you.
I can say that this is true, because in my life I do,
Have this relationship with Jesus, fifty of my seventy years through.
I will say that is has not been easy in every way,
But with this relationship, I can experience Christmas every day.
You too, can experience Christmas in this way,
Invite Jesus into every part of your day.
Remember that His desire, His purpose on earth,
Was to show His value of you, your true worth.
