Two thousand plus years ago,
There was an event that every one does know.
A child who was born for one purpose that had been long ago foretold,
Grew to be about thirty years old.
He began to speak of a new kingdom that was to come,
It has love and caring, healing for all, not only for some.
This kingdom was a spiritual one here on earth,
Free to everyone, to embrace its worth.
When the day came that this man, Jesus, was put on trial,
For the message and claim to be who people had waited for a long while.
After the trial, and many words that had been said,
Jesus was beaten and hung on the cross until He was dead.
The tomb of Jesus was without His body on the morning of the third day,
He was risen from the dead, to fulfil all of what the prophesies did say.
The first and only religious leader to live beyond the grave,
This Jesus, oh so much more, desires not to enslave.
His Spirit desires to live within each and every one,
Grafting us to Him, as brother and son.
Many celebrate this day as a most holy day of each year,
But to celebrate Easter only one day is missing the point I fear.
If we are grafted to Him, His Spirit living within our being,
Might we desire to experience His resurrecton, so freeing.
Shouldn’t the joy of His resurrection be an experience for every day,
Wouldn’t you want to experience this relationship in every way?
